Lets say that my character is wearing a sea-colored robe, with a seafoam green shield and a crystalline sheet on sea travel and laws for fishing, in my inventory. Thus, looking something like this:

Equipment:

<Worn about body> sea-colored robe

Inventory:

seafoam green sack
crystalline sheet on sea travel and laws for fishing
brains of a necromantic tyro

If I wished to look in by robe, what would I do to look in it? look in sea, 2.sea, or 3.sea?

type look in robe

or type look in sea-colored

Those should both work. There is a strange circumstance that doesn't allow it to work and I'll have to give my brain caffeine before it will think of it.

But to answer your question, if you have two identical containers and you're wearing one of them, it seems to not recognize the one you're wearing.

True, but it is worse than that.

There is a piece of armor that if you have it and then try to get things from a chest on the ground or put things into the chest on the ground, it won't let you. It says it can't hold things. You have to walk out of the room where the chest is, drop that piece of equipment, walk back and do what you need to do. No where in the short or long description does it say anything about chest, but it is a keyword.

Really should remember to log that one for the imms to fix.

Try reading a sign while wearing two signet rings! read 3.sign doesn't work.

This is true. Lets say Frollith was wearing a green friar's robe, but finally was able to track down a brown friar's robe, and its in my inventory (color is not a keyword). Look in friar's will show the contents of the new robe: empty. Look in 2.friar's will return the you-don't-have-that message. The easiest way to get around the problem is to drop one robe in one room and walk into another.

I've bug logged this a few times, yet it still happens. Perhaps this page will fix that.

As I understand it there are three lists to look at when you say "Look" at something each list is different think of it like a different sheet of paper. When you use the look command it glances at the pages and works out where your most likely looking. Look in robe, most likely your robe you carry. Goes to that sheet and goes theres the robe whats in it. return information. If you go look 2.robe. It goes where are they looking robe they are carrying. You are only carrying one robe. At least I think thats how the trouble starts. Remove/Drop/bury move to a new room are your friend it is relatively simple to overcome just takes a bit of understanding. Its like open Sw(ord) You cant open that Solution open southwest. Or Shoot sw(eet half elf) demon solution shoot southwest demon. It isnt ideal but I am sure with this knowledge you can manage it.

Try having the exact same robe on the ground as the one you're wearing, you'll never be able to look inside the one you're wearing.

SK Character: Briner, Senach, Myson, others.
many of the Imperial chestplates do what Nativepuff is saying. Also, Signet rings, of any type, prevent you from looking at signs. sucky.
