That'd be a terrible idea, you would level extremely slowly.

Really?

wakis are crap for damage but they are excellent for parrying and eparry. I personally like to train with a waki in the off hand and a kopis/sickle/nodachi or other high damaging sword in the other hand.

How does a Katana rank amongst those blades?

You can level alright with katanas, they're pretty much just average.

This thread is pretty damn old.

Katanas have decent damage, I leveled with them without much of a problem.

Getting more attacks does not necessarily give you more damage. FYI. About a third of the possible finesse weapons out there are good in some circumstance or another- there are obviously going to be tradeoffs. However, you can definitely do more damage with fewer attacks. Getting more attacks can actually be bad in some circumstances, like against another swash.
