Your legal standing in the Empire is as a citizen.
Your legal standing is good in Taslamar.
You are a criminal in Zhenshi.
Your are banished from Ayamao!
Your legal standing is good in the Northern Wastes.

For tribunals it could read, "You are a guardian of Ayamao/Peacekeeper of Taslamar/etc," or, "You are the leader of [kingdom]."

I completely support this idea! I'd even take it further to list the crimes that you are wanted for by going "legal <country>" or none if there aren't any.

I think this is a good idea, but I wouldn't extend it so far as to saying what crimes you're wanted for.

For one, that would be too much spam for the people who are obsessed with racking up crimes...

I completely support this idea, including giving you the list of crimes you have in each country.

Maybe a combination of the ideas here.

"Legal" without arguement would give the:
Quote:
>legal
Your legal standing in the Empire is as a citizen.
Your legal standing is good in Taslamar.
You are a criminal in Zhenshi.
Your are banished from Ayamao!
Your legal standing is good in the Northern Wastes.

Whereas with an arguement would give you something like:
Quote:
>legal ayamao
You are wanted in Ayamao for 5 murders.
You are wanted in Ayamao for 11 attempted murders.
Your are banished from Ayamao!

I can see how this command would be a wonderful OOC convenience, but I don't like it anyway. It is easy enough to ask a friend to go find out your legal status, and I actually like the surprise factor of forgetting/not knowing that you're outlawed in X until you run into their guards (which has happened to me several times now). What's the point in lessening the need to interact and RP with others by taking away all that? Furthermore, if even tribunal members need to go to a law office for a list of criminals, why should outlaws be able to find out their status anytime and anywhere with a single command?

If you create a new character in Exile and travel to another nation for the first time, any crime you commit is immediately connected to your name.

The law seems to know more than it should, why not the judge of your country to be able to inform you of your current status?

I dont know about you, but I know every state in which I am wanted and not wanted. I doubt it would lessen rp any, but I do agree that it is more of a convinience factor (aside from the fact that I think you should/would remember such things). I also like the suggestion by ilkaisha and Mucktar.
