Okay, I wasn’t going to get involved with this discussion here because the issue at hand is an IC one and I despise argument about IC situations OOC.

I will say one thing, however. There is a reason voodoo has maledictions associated with it. If you think of voodoo as a one-hit-death-cannon-from-above, and only as that, you are missing the point. Yes, it sucks to be randomly hammered with deafness, blindness, cursing, and weaken. Yes, it hurts. This is the exact same concept of every single other offensive spell or prayer in the game. The difference? The pain this spell causes when it doesn’t outright kill you is pain you have to RP out, instead of just bleeding all over the place or begging for a resurrection.

Voodoo is deadly when multiple, simultaneous prayers are used, or when someone tricked out in enchantments hits a relatively weak character. But that is only one outcome, and in some IC situations not even the desirable or sought outcome. Voodoo is meant to screw with your life in more and worse ways than just killing you. It is meant to make it hell to try to go on, by throwing up some serious obstacles to even the simplest of tasks. If you don’t want that kind of garbage in your life, don’t screw with shamans, because every single one of them can do it to you at any given moment, as often as they get away with and more. If you *do* want to screw with shamans, then you do so realizing that at any given moment, without warning, you can and probably will get hit with voodoo, whether it’s meant to kill or not.

That’s it. I’m done with this discussion OOCly. If you want a resolution to this, and you want to stop getting hit with voodoo at inopportune times, opportune times, or any time I feel like it, then try for one IC’ly. Don’t try to change the rules just because they aren’t currently in your favor. Everyone is in that position at one time or another, almost always because of an IC choice or action or statement, and there will never be situations that are completely fair all around.

Even with me, hun? :P

Anyway, on topic. Voodoo puts the shaman in an EXTREMELY vulnerable situation as well, if not in a worse situation than his victim. Stop whinning and take advantage of it if you have friends that can help. If you don't have friends, then you are lost anyhow, with a shaman against you or not, and are simply a loser. :P

As for the comment about a "secure area", there is no such thing and we all know it. And shamans can't voodoo from non-transport areas such as cabal HQs etc. So stop whinning, and go get your shaman IC if you have a problem with it.

P.S. The options of this poll are utterly lame, since you actually force anyone who does not agree with you to automatically consider continuous voodoo as "great rp", although he simply does not find it needed to be changed. That is manipulative as a poll itself and it's [REDACTED], but I voted that it's "great rp", simply because I disagree so much with option#1.

I hold tremendous hate towards the spell 'voodoo' even though i was barely targeted by it and only got killed once when I was 35 lvl. In any case, a vicious spam hunt/kill/junk/edrain/anything can pass the appropriate msg to the lame shaman.

In your case, i would devote all my playtime and using ANY possible mean to make his life miserable to the point of deletion or being locked up in a room somewhere, so i can go back in having fun right after.

The spell 'voodoo' is made in such way to promote foul courtesy and those using/abusing the spell, should be treated likewise.

Cheers.-

Dear noob Peso,

Dark-Avenger voodooed you only once. And the two times that he died while naked. His death had much less cost than your preparation and actions. I was happy about it afterwards.

Now ask anyone who has died to my voodoo. :P

That used to happen. I think it might have been changed or something. I am not sure, but I have not heard of it happening in some time.

You can voodoo over water. You can also be gated over water.

Voodoo = gateable

End of story.

The shaman used to be able to move while paralyzed through named exits and enter things like cabal HQs(no gates there), but not anymore.

If you are voodooed, gate and gank the shaman. It's not rocket science.

It's hard to gank the shaman when you're dead. Most shamans aren't going to voodoo unless they're pretty sure the target will die.
