So I made a newbie delf to toy with since my character was dead. Just a throw away character to test some skills with and I made it in ayamao. Now i know what you're all thinking, that was stupid..yes it was. I meant to creat in uxmaln but I decided to go to the stones to wait for a portal and a deportation.

You walk west.

A recently cleared section of forest
The forest has been partially cleared here, leaving a rows
fFF of unevenly-short stumps, broken off at various heights.
f*p Bramble, deadfall, and rustling, dead leaves make passage
pFf difficult. Large wedges of lichen and spotted
toadstools are already feasting on what remains of
the downed wood, and dying stumps. A footpath is visible in
the soft soil, leading east and southwest. It's mostly clear, cool, and
there is absolutely no wind.

A slender arrow streaks into you from the north!
An elven canopy archer's ambush does UNSPEAKABLE THINGS to you!
You are stunned, but will probably recover.

I took one step out of the newbie zone and got stunned. not only did I get stunned, but for awhile it kept stunning me on the tick.

Needless to say it took a long time for my level 1 delf to make it to arne.

Could these arrows possibly be fixed so it won't hit ametuers? I'm not a newbie and I know better than to make a delf in ayamao, but someone new to the game probably would get really frustrated with this experience and quit, not knowing why their character keeps getting picked on.

I always wondered why Deep Elves could choose Ayamao as a starting area. Shouldn't there atleast be a klaxon that goes off telling the player this would be a bad idea?

I hope its possible to adjust. I figure they only stun, so that is kind enough. A newbie could pray (if they know about pray) or a vet would just not make a delf there. I suppose if those archers were able to use auto newbie that would help, but what about when they become a novice and are ejected from the newbie area? Going to happen either way, as I see it.

Heh heh heh. Yeah, those were mine. Knowing they put holes in Mordy makes my day.

(The original version, anyway. Sounds like they've been upgraded.)

Peace,
Bux

This doesn't need to be looked at. I was in the KoS when that was put into the game and there's more to them then just shooting deep-elves. I'm not giving anything away because I've been intending to join the KoS in it's new form for some time but I never get around to it. I loved the KoS I was in it for six months, that and my first run through the hammer were so much fun.

Say what you want about Vaknafag (as he was called in the day), he was a damn good rper and he really brought things to life. He had a literary style that made things seem a bit epic and I always appreciated him as a player even though he was greek and very much maligned by some of the other top players.

Even his ending was epic. The destruction of the KoS and the emergence of the Guardians. So much story to the man, or the elf I should say. I miss those days.

I'm not asking them to be removed, I will however ask that you post your love notes to vaknafien in another thread or us pms please.

The only thing I am asking is they just have auto newbie on.

Possibly some kind of warning for deep elves who create in ayamao as well.

SK Character: Briner, Senach, Myson, others.
I say we have roving bands of elves ambush cannibal with every character he plays. 8)

That being said, the rest of us players should get the benefit of auto newbie, and have Ayamao not be a starting spot for delves.
