Keep in mind that priests get refresh. But I agree that classes who don't get refresh or fly should get endurance at lower levels.

I didn't read this thread, but has anyone suggested buying a MOUNT? They have plenty of PE to get across the world, and resting them in an Inn regens them fast enough to make a quick trip back. Couple that with a little bit of patience and the portal stones, and most people can get around just fine.

What am I missing here?

Since this hasn't been mentioned yet. There is at least one place to purchase refresh potions. Ask in the game, someone is bound to know.

But to be more economical, once a newbie character finishes the newbie zone, he/she definitely has enough coins to purchase a mount. Every city has a place to get one.

This has been mentioned already, but to emphasize, when player character flees from combat, the speed mode is automatically set to 'run'. This increases the movement points cost significantly in exchange for speed. Make sure to go back to speed walk again.

Yes, to reiterate, unfortunately 'exploring' the world of SK probably cannot done efficiently before level 6.

If you flee, SK resets your speed to 'walk' after your pulse slows. That helps, but SK can only hold your hand so much. . .

How sad. I didn't know that either so I spent hours upon hours writing a script that would do exactly that for Zmud. Well, might as well share it with the world!
