Campfire would allow scouts to build a campfire in wooded areas and it would allow for quicker mana/hp/Mv regeneration. It would also affect every one that is -in- the room as him sleeping or resting. Also a scout could only make a campfire once a day.

Yay or Nay?

I've seen this work on a mud I played years ago. I think it is one of the cooler types of abilities I have seen, in a long time. Good idea.

That must've been the first time the lack of a wert option actually made me take a stance instead of closing the window in a fit of uncontrollable rage.

Though added on top of this, I think there should be some drawback. The only thing I can think of at the moment is something among the lines of maybe having people being able to see the fire from X rooms away.

Kind of stolen from WoW, but I can't exactly say no.

Aha-ha. That made me chuckle, snuffles.

Anyway - I don't like it, because if you want the snazzy regen rate, you go to an inn inside a city - where you're at risk of being found and killed. It's part of the risk, but it's part of what keeps cities populated. If scouts got this, you wouldn't see much inn use anymore.

I would actually agree with GL on this point, however I see a work-around. First, I don't think this campfire thing should have the regen rate that inns have, so there is still a benefit to using the "danger zones." Second, if the campfire showed up on the map once you were within X number of leagues of it (by coloring the league where the campfire is burning orange, for example), regardless of day or night, then it would make people just as likely to be found by anyone wandering through the area.
