I was told that taking damage while flying against the wind was a bug - guess it never got fixed.

It's not a bug. There should even be a message explaining the loss of HP. Something like 'The storm winds slam you into the ground." I don't have the code in front of me, so I can't quote it exactly.

There's no message explaining the loss of HP, at least not when flying over the ocean. Like I mentioned before, I've used aliases to fly to islands and run into gales that rendered my character close to death before the alias ran out and there was never any message.

There isn't any message associated with it like if you floundered while swimming.

However, feel free to fix the problem by just removing the movement in wind code.

Okay, I looked it up. You take damage whenever you see either of these:

"You get blown off course!"
"Flight is impossible in this wind!"

I will mark them red in the next update to show them as being serious. I will also change the second to say you struck the ground.

What about if there is no ground, and you're flying over water? :/

I also don't think being blown off course should damage your hp. Birds don't lose health when they're coasting, and a wind current alters their course just a bit (which is what being blown off course is)

If Flight is out and out impossible, that might warrant a message.

The new message is:
The ferocious wind knocks you senseless!

The mechanics aren't changing. Both of these instances are the equivalent of you flying during a hurricane. Birds don't fly in hurricanes and you shouldn't either. If you think your kingdom has too many hurricanes, you should typo log that for the KD to examine.

Birds also don't summon daemons from the pits of hell, ride flying Nightmares, petrify people with spells, and fly using the magic that grants all of that.

I'm willing to also bet that the only type of rifting any sker does in real life is that of the seat of their pants.

While I admire the attempt at realism, this is just annoying and doesn't add to the difficulty or challenge of the game. Just have it consume more movement and that's that.

Wind change is one of the most under used tactics in SK. You can use it to stop someone moving quickly or even flying. Can use it to stop arrows. There is more to wind that just a trouble when traveling from point A to point B.

I thought invisibility didn't fade until your first attack. That's always been the way I've encountered the spell working, especially when some opponents don't fade into existence until the second round because they're just getting their attacks in.

Or is this specifically about flight? I was going to mention that typing in flee also drops invisibility too :(
