Why is it that NPCs are throwing [REDACTED]?

I've never seen a NPC throw [REDACTED]....

A thrown pile of [REDACTED] does UNSPEAKABLE THINGS to you!

Apparently, training was just too easy. Apparently, lowbies didn't get killed quite often enough.

So now, every NPC can throw daggers, spears, and axes. Not only have the gods granted them with a seemingly endless supply of said daggers, spears, and axes - but if they could be useful, say, if you wanted to throw them yourself back at them - you can't, because in about a minute's time, they crumble to dust. They can be blind and still see to throw spears at the material lowbie priest in the second row just looking to train a bit without getting owned. They can be bashed and manage to throw spears in some direction, too.

Greating freaking idea, everyone.

Any new feature will probably have a few bugs. However, some of what was said is untrue. It's not every NPC that can throw items. They have to be sentient and have hands. Some NPCs are currently not flagged the way you would expect.

For example, the complaint that the zakami beasties are throwing weapons is a builder error. They are race snotling, which describes a sort of sub-goblin species which is sentient and has hands. This will need to be fixed at the builder level, so please typo log if you think it's a mistake.

Random crying will be ignored. Well reasoned discussion will always be heard and considered, even if I disagree.

How can you call it a builder error when the NPCs were put there long before the new code was implemented?

Because in the past, it might not have been noticable to a player that a animal-like beast is flagged as being sentient. But it was still not a correct flag for the creature in question.
