Since darkies cant stun/steal and lighties have request I say we do one of two things...

remove request to make it more balanced or add demand for darkies which would be the same thing as request but for darkies!!!

Darkies can't stun/steal? Since when did stealing become a lightie thing? Second, there is nothing in that says that a darkie cannot stun/steal it is only people's own interpretation of darkie that makes it so.
Third, it is balanced because a lightie shouldn't ever stun/steal in the first place. Darkies can.

[Skills help] demand

Syntax: sayto <target> Give that to me at once... or suffer the consequences.
Syntax: kill <target>

The 'demand' skill enables evil characters to obtain items from higher-level
NPCs in a context that suits the RP of evil alignments more than the 'request'
command available to the 'good guys.'

I'm assuming this is actually about the shopkeeper inventory thing, though, correct?

Most shop keeps cant be stun steal anymore...

And lighties can easily get armor via the request command. can you give me one reason why the darkies shouldnt get a simialer command like Demand?

Lighties cannot request from shopkeeps anyways.

[edit] And anyone that a lightie can request from. A darkie can stun/steal from them just as easily

As a lady of the Light I do not like the idea of killing someone for their clothing. Request allows me to ask others of the Light if I might have the clothing they have. There is a gown I have seen that interests me but it is on a grey NPC but I will not kill them for it.

That is the difference between the Light and the Dark.

I don't have a problem with the shopkeeper stun/steal of inventory change, it reduces the utility of casters a huge amount and makes being a necro effing useless since you can't get free wands and staves to make your undead fly when you need them. It's the stuff they carry that they don't sell that you can't get that bugs me.

Like Darryn in the Torrum Arcana. He doesn't sell the staff he holds. The only way to get it is to stun him and take it. But if you stun him his staff gets locked up now. I bug logged that but I'm being led to believe that it's a feature.

I didn't vote, I think they should make it so you can stun shopkeers and take any eq they don't sell. That's what I vote for. I don't care about demand, darkies can do their demanding anyway they want.

I don't see why darkies can't demand something from someone weaker without a fight. That makes no IC sense.

One of the downsides of playing a darkie in SK is that you cannot request/demand. If lighties did not have request. There is no beneficial reason to be a lightie. Main reason being, they would never be able to get any eq from any non-leveling NPC (as in you can get xp but you don't purposefully level off of them).

Grakus, you are right. There is no IC reason why darkies shouldn't have it. There is no IC reason why graybies shouldn't have it either. Although, people will stop playing lighties again if they cannot get the same thing that a darkie can. For if a lightie were to ever gank/stun a merchant/citizen, they should be cursed!

Minus the better and more numerous xp zones, the hardcoded RP of working together, the hardcoded allied cabals/tribunals, and the 5:1 ratio of light-aura only vs. dark-aura only equipment.

I only play a dark aura because of how underdog they are on this mud. Seriously.
