Shattered Kingdoms

I've noticed that the entire area around Menegroth/Kytar/Portal stones are completely bugged or something. In all other Kingdoms I can see perfectly fine but in the Empire it says that it's Pitch Black.



Curious as to know how young ones are to roam around if they can't see when it is clearly daylight.

Also: Who list is clearly visible, but the pitch black is still happening. Anyone know what might cause this?

A visible who list is a recent (a few months at least) change D made. You can be in the middle of the forest and not see, but still see the who list. As far as this particular incident, perhaps you were in a room thats flagged as "cave" or some such?

Was the road leading from Kytar to Menegroth. And the Road leading Menegroth to the Portal stones.

The who list visibility is based on if you could look into the room and see the person, if they are in dark with now glowing item and you dont have infra vision you can not see them if you are wearing a glowing item this doesnt help but if they are then it do. Where if you are blind you can not see anyone but yourself.

How ever I have come across a similar bug a long time ago (before I was on the forums) in sith'a'niel. I cant recall the exact details of back then. I believe you are the only person effected by it. Someone standing next to you can see fine. I believe it has something to do with infravision (spell) but it was a long time ago.

This may not be the same problem but a long time ago there was a bug where if someone went linkdead in a room, from that time on, you could only see in that room if you had infravision. I don't think it was fixed until the game rebooted.

I've experienced something like this.. I polymorph into a halfling... cast infravision.. am all good. When I release the polymorph, and infravision.. I can't see with a gnome even!

I also recall a bug where if you didn't have infravision but wore glowing items and walked into a room, you could not see a thing unless you typed "look".

That infravision bug can be alleviated by logging out and back in.

The original topic of this post was simply someone caught in natural night time darkness. Its part of the realism of the SK game world that many players never notice.

So Noon is natural night time darkness? That is a wee bit silly don't ya think?
