What a wonderful addition first of all.

There is only one pet peeve of mine about it, and I'm not sure whether this belongs to the BUG forums or the gameplay ones.

It is called the "key next door" syndrome.

Remember back in the day when you would get so many accidental attacks because people would Kill someone instead of Looking at them? This problem was solved simply by having to type in kill in full.

I don't know about everyone else, but I for one am infamous for such typos. I think I have reset my ForumID at least a few dozen times so far, simply trying to Get something from my container. Now, I know this is easily undone by simply setting your forumID back to normal, but still.

Would it be possible that the forumID command needs to be entered in full as well, much like "kill", "alias" etc?

I've bug logged this a few times too, and set up my own alias to prevent it. Please fix! Its especially bad because changing your forumid has save lag associated with it.

I've asked Dulrik about it. Types of commands are parsed in different order. This type of command obviously is ahead of follow in the parsing of commands. Which is odd, because alphabetically follow comes after forumID. I'd be happy to see forumID require the full command. That way you can't change your forumID with just one letter.

It would end up working like kill does now. If you look at the command list there are two commands: kil and kill. If you typed f or fo, you'd get the response 'Type in the full command for the ForumID command.' or for p , pa , pas, or pass: 'Type in the full command to change your password.'

I want this too. I can't tell you how many times I've seen/made this exact complaint.

Just make sure it doesn't conflict with exits named as "pass" or "passage" though.

There really is no harm in resetting your forumID back if you make a mistake. It adds a few log entries I suppose, but nobody is being spammed at our end.

But yeah, I support the command-line ideas posted above. :)

It's the unplanned for lag for saving that automatically happens when you change your forumid that gets to me. I'd rather just avoid that altogether if it's possible, by just requiring the entire forumid command to be enetered to activate the process.
