I decided that this should probably go up in its own thread(s).

So here's the first idea as to what should be done to balance these classes, which are meant to be two sides of the same coin but really aren't for a variety of reasons.

Bolt of Darkness:

This spell is effectively identical to Bolt of Glory, except it's possessed by hellions instead of paladins. Those affected by it take damage, and have a chance to be nimbused as with Bolt of Glory. It would be targetable at light-aura priests, paladins, elves, and griffons, since griffons are meant to be the balance to necromancers. Even though I don't really think griffons need another weakness, necromancers don't really either but they get one with BoG.

You idea is a failure because it doesn't overly favor the light aura.

Gosh, stop asking for implementations for your convinience people. Anyone who has played a decent hellion can testify that a hellion can easilly take down any paladin. I don't see why you would need to "balance" them.

I guess it's a good thing I don't play hellions, eh? Otherwise your statement might actually be true.

Paladins and Hellions are just fine. They are probably both some of the more powerful classes.

No, for the simple reason that it doesn't add anything new to the game. It's just a copy of another spell. Hellions already have hellfire.

This idea is full of fail. The name is unimaginative and it's just a copy of another spell that paladins have already.

Why do hellions need this spell again?

Give them Death Coil! Or rather a damaged based spell with the chance to fear a single target, just leave out the self heal from damage inflected by the spell.

That would own. Seriously.
