There is such a module, that I have installed on RPGNet (my site/forums).

You can ask a simple question, like how much is 3 times 4, or What is the Capital City of Italy, or even ask them to visit http://a-site-you-choose and have them pick up the code there, or say, the third word from the first paragraph and so forth. There are a lot of possibilities, and you can even have them use case sensitive answer...

It worked like a charm for me, and from 30 addbots/day we dropped down to 0, when i combined this with some visual confirmation and some other patches.

Is that module for phpbb forums?

Yes. You can try to register on mine on www.rpgnet.gr/forums to see the module in action in registration. I am currently asking a simple question - non case sensitive. But that can be used in 20 different ways like I explained.

I will dig up my patch notes and PM you the download name/site for the module. It's quite easy to install, a few copy pastes on the core phpBB files and you're it.

It has a bug, I could not make it work case sensitive. Whenever I activated that it replied every answer (even correct in answer and case) as wrong. So I am using it without the case sensitive option.
