Since the reasoning behind hellions and sneak/invis/hide has been brought up a few times recently, I'd like to ask for some clarification on Paladins and listed skills.

I can almost see disarm being proper and all. Though wouldn't those that live by a fair code of honor wish their opponent to have a weapon?

And dirt kicking to me is just a low down dirty trick in all books considered. Why would such valiant knights be allowed such a dastardly deed?

Paladins don't have dirt kick. I think the atyrros might, though.

I think the argument for disarm would be to actually disarm an opponent to render them less dangerous and to put them in a position where they must acquiesce to defeat.

The SK code just continues fighting until a character is stunned, killed or flees.

I suppose if you want to be a pansy with all these prim and proper rules about fights then I guess you could, but that is not what a paladin is about. I'd correlate that more with boxers or other kinds of martial artists that don't fight for their ideals, but rather for money and sport. They have strict guidelines and rules to follow.

Now, no evil male deep-elf is going to whine or complain against the gods of Light to force sanctions against a paladin for abusing steroids and flogging his [REDACTED] against the ground with his massive pectorals. There really is no oversight committee against the paladins that test for drugs or other crap that could be considered unfair in sport fighting.

And another point is that some people don't need a weapon to be technically armed. The skill is useless against necromancers for example since a necromancer isn't going to be caught fighting in melee with a paladin.

Dirt kicking is more of a specialized skill used by those with non-magical talent to make up for what they lack: magic. Paladins aren't really the most well versed meleers, as they spend a fair bit of time studying and using the powers granted to them by their god, which is far more effective in doing the job that they're tasked with.

Also, paladins don't even get dirt kicking. Did you bother looking at the skillset before you made that argument?

Like thunder said, paladins don't have dirt kick.
As for disarm, think of this...
villain attacks city, Paladin disarms and arrests villain before he does any more harm to the paladin or other innocents.

Disarming is not without honor, it helps you stop the bad guy from doing any more harm.

Yeah, those stupid bad guys need to stop QQing about having their weapon ripped out of their hands and focus on killing the paladin before he can do it.
