The event is great fun, but they can be a little overwhelming in great numbers, especially when they hunt too. So far from observing, the bugs don't seem to wander, so travelers can take a little caution by looking ahead, and avoid them as needed.

While writing this an idea came up. Would it be possible, during the events such as invasions, unique wandering guards, militias, tribunals etc can be scattered for the duration, and these NPCs work to protect the travelers under attack within city grounds and parts of the roads. Similar to Paladins' Camp next to Necropolis.

Maybe if someone in any tribunal, or in the HoL for instance, had already thought of this ICly, begun leaving notes and RPing the reallocation of some guards, or the raising of a citizen militia of sorts, this would be a more likely outcome?

Juuuust a thought. Kingdom directors are listed in 'Immortal Contacts' and on wizlist, btw. :wink:

I don't think those creatures are supposed to be loading in newbie areas. I'll ask the guy doing the RP if they are loading in the correct places. Sorry for the trouble. We will try to respond to your concern promptly. Thanks for trying out SK.

It was certainly not my intent to see them load in newbie areas. The one that I would guess they were in firstoff would be Krychire. I'll make certain to not include those areas in the invasions. There's certainly several ways to deal with the issues. They aren't always aggressive, either.

Thank you both. It is good to see active administration that cares about the player experience.

As to the agressiveness, my post was a straight copy/paste. I opened the door, walked in and was attacked. Once attacked by one the rest in the room attacked as well. I was able to flee, but they followed and finished me. Not that big of a deal to me, as I am low level and understand a bit about games. I just felt that this thread was appropriate to bring up what a new player experiences that could cause them to not choose to stay.

All games experience turnover. People leave for various reasons. To keep, or grow, numbers in a playerbase new players have to be brought in. If the new player experience causes a large number of "truly new" to not stay numbers can suffer.

Again, thank you both for addressing this concern.

Seems even in my spite the holiday spirit got into me and I directed a few people your way, be nice to them and they will probably stick around for a while
