Frollith was a gimpy character played by a gimpy player. Seriously. "LOL WHUT HAS THEE DONE TO ME". Every single RP with that character was an episode on how to grit my teeth and deal with an idiot.

No offense to the player, though I'm sure if he's got any sense at all, he's perfectly able to realise what an idiot he is.

I think that's the problem with player PCs. There will always be people who don't think that the player deserved to become an NPC, and indeed who will be offended by the very thought.

Ugh, Frollith the NPC. Surely there are enough blithering nyogthas already.

And assasinations are cool, even if they fail. Remember the one on King Gerevan, OVT?

The one where Valessa hit a critical cleave on OVT, which didn't work because she was on mode stun?

That's the one. She got her named placed on that plaque in the center of exile, for being the first one to defend king Gerevan, and she being a hellion too.

I think characters should be allowed to change more things on the realms and also leave their signature to the history of SK.

What differentiates SK from any other game we know is that characters can change it's history and participate to it's evolution. It's the actual beauty of the game and what kept that kind of games alive so far...but then again, this is my opinion.

Of course it requires the aid of an immortal thus makes it harder; That is why I've suggested to divide the immortals to different duties (RP/bug fixing/etc) many times. It doesn't matter how many times a character will emote setting the inn on fire if there is no immortal around to support the RP, nor do the immortals with a million things to do, can endlessly wonder around snooping in case a character decides to burn things up.

I've added to the history of the game. I'm involved in 5 books that I know of, 4 I wrote and 1 where I was paraphrased.

So even those who lose to SK can have an impact.

With this character alone, I have been involved in a few global RPs, caused more trouble than just about anyone else I know, and went on to lead a faction after having caused such political mayhem, and still cause political mayhem.

The beauty of SK is really for players to create and help weave the living storybook that is Pyrathia. That is what helps to keep the game alive and fresh. IMMs can start global RP but the best RPs and the ones that can come to more of an end when we want them to are the ones the players start.

Anyone remember Lirimaer's school? The Hammer banishing her? The Druids thinking she was turning her back on Ayamao? Youma banishing her because of lies told by an Aludra? The Guardians not trusting her but backing her actions? The Knights' tournament and her arriving with Slayne?

It just takes roleplay and knowing what it is you want to accomplish with a character. Allow time and change to affect the character; let them grow as a person would.

And the daemon rift RP is still one of my favorite globals. That one took a lot of work and patience to get it all done.

Rather than always having to start the global RPs, IMMs should be able to be support to players starting GRPs. Drop little hints, tidbits and let the players work it out and go with it.

The point is though, slayne wasn't exactly the paragon of charisma and respect. He -claimed- to be emperor and since nobody respected him, nobody gave a [REDACTED]. I mean how many people make massive claims and don't get any attention from it? I don't really care that he was made an NPC I just think there are countless other chars who deserve to be made into npcs more. In all honesty, PK kinda is what counts in terms of earning respect and getting things done. You can rp all you want, but if your getting your [REDACTED] kicked left and right, it doesn't make any sense for your character to be getting things done. I mean how else are you suppose to make them do what you want, or prevent them from doing what they want? roleplay owning them?
