Make a new language besides god-tongue that ghosts can speak and everyone can understand. Otherwise, it can be abused.

I must be missing something. Why do we need ghosts to speak in a universal language?

Any priest of a level to cast resurrection should have a reasonable command of all language (yes, there are rare exceptions). Can't they just switch to whatever tongue the newbie/lowbie is using and converse in that?

Is the problem that you can't understand them well enough to get the name right in terms of targeting for the resurrection spell? In that case I would recommend the use of spirit sight.

Personally I think the headache of either using god-speak (twinkery) or coding a new language outweighs any slight benefits something like this would grant.

Still, are there a lot of characters out there active in PK (solo) who have blocks of languages entirely unlearned? It would seem pretty rare that no-one in a PK group would speak the language of the "gankee," as it were.

Id like for every player a sub language that only that race understands, griffons would have some bird talk thing, deep-elves get deep as do gnoems and dwarves, elves should al;l know sylvan, and human would get a base understanding depending on where they life like if in krychire, alittle deep. Zhensh, alittle bird talk. ect. ect.

yeah...I had one character that only spoke 1 language his whole life. (grimbold). And I've had one or two others that never learned certain ones for rp reasons.

Ambrila never spoke (except to enter the cabal HQ, then it was surrounded with strange emotes). Vylkes only spoke Zhensh all her life. She learned two other languages after middle age, and before I deleted her she knew them all, but never spoke them except for Zhensh.
