The ball is now less than 24 hours away. You should make some preparations ahead of time for maximum party enjoyment.

There will be a gentleman bouncer at the entrance to the ball passing out cloaks and masks. Feel free to drop by 15-30 minutes before start time to avoid the rush. TELL the gentleman your preferred mask category and he will discreetly pass you a random mask from that list, along with a cloak that can hold your items.

- List of masks by category:
* Festive: sun, feather, domino, smiling, bunny
* Animals: heron, bull, panther, dragon, wolf, scarab
* Somber: crying, scowl, skull, death, moon

The mask you get is the one you get. Requests will not be taken. There will only be so many of each mask to go around. Once all the masks in a category are gone, you may end up with what's left over. First come, first served.

Once you get your cloak and mask, I encourage you to quickly move to some out of the way location to change into your outfit. You probably don't want other people to see what mask you got.

Wearing the mask effectively places you under the disguise skill. It does not change your description. YOU have to change your description if you do not want people to know who you are. I encourage you to pre-write your alternate description now so that you can enter it quickly. The new description should be something feasible based on your normal description. If you are usually tall, don't try to pass yourself off as short, but feel free to make yourself look more mysterious. Don't forget to save your old description so you can change it back later.

You can wear any armor that you wish to the ball but keep in mind that unique items will give away your identity. Please wear the cloak you were given and dump any unique equipment into it for safe keeping.

Unequip your weapon(s) and put them in the cloak or another container for safe keeping. People wearing weapons will not be admitted to the ball. If you equip any weapons while at the ball, a bouncer will ask you to leave. Magic will also not be functional in the ball room. Anyone who starts a fight will be thrown out by the bouncers and not readmitted.

This is a MASKED ball. Only masked attendees will be admitted to the party. Your mask will NOT save. Once you get your mask, don't quit the game until you are ready to leave the party for good. If you take off your mask while at the ball, you may be thrown out by the bouncers.

When your costume is set, you may use pray to ask for transportation to the ballroom. This way no one will get a reading on your aura before you enter. If you just don't care, you can also walk back to the gentleman bouncer, who can also admit you to the ball.

While at the ball, do your best not to generate tons of SPAM. Food and drink will be provided in one room. Please do your eating and drinking in that room, away from the rest of the event. Don't search through your bags or equip and unequip items while you are near other guests. Keep your position changes (sitting/resting/standing) to a minimum.

Unusual guests may (or may not) arrive which you can roleplay with. If so, don't crowd them all at once. They will mingle to make themselves known and then will make their way to a lesser used room so that individuals can start more in-depth conversations over a period of time.

This is a roleplaying event. Enjoy the chance to talk in-character with other characters who may normally be your enemies in a fairly safe environment. Take advantage of being relatively anonymous.

There is a version of the mask that griffons can wear on their neck, so they need not feel excluded. However, races are not disguisable, so griffon, elf and deep-elf alignments are going to be fairly obvious. If you have racial enmity, feel free to act bitchy, but there will still not be fighting allowed during the party.

It's a party! Have fun!

Haha. Dulrik said bitchy.

I'm somewhat upset that I'm not going to get to go to the Ball. Superbowl time...and its in a rural area where Internet does not exist. :(

There are in-game notices up on the astral board in four (4) languages.

It is very late, but it provides the important information on location of this event.

With the amount of work put in by staff it looks like it will be good.

Too bad I've always worked all day on Sundays.

Sunday events suck.

I/Gomlyn will also be unable to attend. I suppose she would give herself away anyway... Super Bowl plans as well for me.

I hope there will be many more events like this as it sounds like so much fun. I look forward to hearing about everyone's experiences. :D

Do the Harlequin have a deal with the Fist to ban all weapons, or are the Knights of Selkwood and the original Talon in charge of this event? haha.

Remove all weapons before entering is SO 2001, Dulrik.

You know, for an RPer, you really are too concerned with...non RP aspects?

I'll try attending, but I most likely won't be able to or will just end up having to leave fairly soon. The time of the event is at midnight for me and I work the next day.

:(
