Although, the sword itself is poorly named (I have known this for a while), I have just considered it the closest thing SK will ever get to Cloud's buster sword. I, for one, would never want an anime sword name introduced into SK.

Although there are certainly other priorities, this has always bothered me a little too.

The proper word is Bidenhänder, really.

The world must be coming to an end, for I wholeheartedly agree with Fepel! :o

Chemhound, get over it already! It's like you are telling us that magic missile spell can not be called like that because OMG IT'S NOT REALLY A MISSILE, IS IT NOW? or you can't have mitrhil armor CAUSE MITHRIL DOESN'T EVEN EXIT! OMG EVEN THE DICTATION-CHECKS DON'T RECOGNIZE IT AS A WORD!!!

Chill out dude... :P It's a name for a sword that doesn't even exist. As Muktar said above, I too picture it as something like Cloud's sword. I don't care if it's called Landsknecht (which does sound nice in my ears) or John Doh or Mitsos.

It isn't cloud's sword. It's just a 5-6 foot long greatsword (greatsword, flamberge [if it had a wavy blade], zweihander, whatever, it's all interchangeable)
