We have all the ingredients of firearms, high tech/magical metals that are stronger than steel, methods of making fire, and gunpowder (firecrackers, and firework rockets). All it takes is someone to put them together, and boom...
Of course, early guns had an obscenely slow rate of fire, and it wasn't for centuries that gunners could equal, let alone beat an experienced archer for firepower.
