I'm sure guns'll be around eventually. But remember this is a fantasy online game. There could always be a secret society that understands the destructive nature and wishes them to be destroyed. I read a Forgotten Realms story once like that, where all the aged mages were fighting to destroy such advancements without proper investigation so as to slow the nature of people.

Who's defending it? I'm just trying to establish how phallic it is.

Forgotten Realms are cursed so that anything technological just fails to work for some unknown and indiscernible reason. Thats why gnomes are so frustrated there. they make steam powered engines that just -fail-. No reason why they should, but they do.

Kinda like SK, only they are frustrated by the lack of female gnomes here :p

Personally, I hope gnomes as a race were all erased from conception.
