Alifer told me about this, you don't have to wear a shovel to dig! yey!

Quote:
> help dig
[Objects help] bury dig

Syntax: bury <object> [with <digging tool>]
dig [with <digging tool>]

Both of these commands require the use of a digging tool such as a shovel
or trowel. Equipping the tool is not required, but if you do so, you will
not need to type out the additional syntax for tool selection.

I must have missed something. There is a way to dig without equipping the tool?

Yep, I found out tonight as well. Though I'd really like to go back to digging with my hands and not always needing a tool. But yes the syntax dig shovel will allow you to dig. I even tried it with full hands to make sure and it still works.

Obviously in my noob state I was always removing something in my hand and then digging while holding a tool.

Granted, you know all about tools, so it does not amaze me that you've figured it out. And don't try to turn this back upon me, it won't work. If you've got nothing constructive to say stay out.

Since digging takes PE, can we try to get it changed so you can dig and bury without tools but at the higher cost of PE? That would be a fair balance, tools would give you a "discounted" cost and less lag.

SK Character: That'd be telling
I think Mal makes a valid point there. I refer to the PE thing, not the fact that Ardith is a tool.

I disagree with being able to bury or dig things without a shovel. I think its great that these previously useless items now have an actual in-game function, not just rp tools. However, I do think the PE drain for digging could use a little tweaking. Right now I think the amound of PE used depends on the quality/material of the shovel being used, and thats it. The PE drain should also reflect the size of the object being buried. For instance, burying a dragon's corpse would wear you out way more than burying a sprite's.

No kidding people. Keep up with the MUD news and read the occasional helpfile, trust me, they're helpful.
