No the answer's fine its the attitude that goes with it that's not, however RP'ing would make perfect sense if someone knew where to start? Wouldn't that make sense how do I start to go about this? I mean if you're talking about the adepts that doesn't make much rp sense going around saying Hey I want to sacrifice people how do I find the leader? Maybe you could go by titles but if I was a harlequin or blood adept I wouldn't have anything like that in my title. And in defense of the mud itself the characters all seem rather nice and the players do too when you send a tell. Do not worry I won't ask another question on the forums so some other loser can grief me for not automatically knowing how things work.

No one here gave you an ounce of attitude. Take a deep breath and go back and read your replies.

Hint: There are no Adepts. If you want to find a Harlie, they're based out of Teron.

Must you honestly be so condescending? All I wanted was an honest answer to a question and I've had to type on here how many times? And to say a cabal is based out of Teron is counterproductive to the "You must RP" argument as that is not ic information.

Dude, you really need to chill out. The bottom line is that whoever told you that cabals were limited in number of members was being a jackass, and that regardless of lack of limit, no one is promised a spot in a cabal.

Again with the condescending. I played here for a few weeks now and while the initial beginning is fun and intriguing (even tho grinding gets boring) this proves there is not much after grinding for a new player. Good luck enlarging the playerbase with this [REDACTED] poor attitude.

I think you're confusing the terms "not bending over backwards for someone" and "being condescending." If you really want condescending, I'm sure you'll get it from someone. Up to this point, all you've gotten is an initially polite answer to your question, and following firm admonisions that no matter what you aren't promised a spot in a cabal just because you happen to want one.

Just as a note, telling someone that they have enough of xxx class, is an OOC decision.

No one's been condescending, or aggressive, or negative at all. Frankly, I'm pretty surprised that OA didn't just chew your face off. He does that a lot.

As you've read, it's never a very good idea to make your character concept reliant upon being in a cabal or tribunal (or even religion, sometimes). Sometimes you can bust your [REDACTED] all you like trying to get into the Harlequins, but you'll end up having to settle for the Adepts (I know of at least two characters that definitely did this, and more that are almost definitely Harlequin rejects). The Harlequins hold all the cards, that's how they're supposed to be. If they don't want you, they'll tell you to [REDACTED] off. The Midnight Council is the Imperial Elite, and if they don't think you're grade-A material, they'll toss you out on your backside. You can see how the same applies for all tribunals and cabals, including the Adepts, or at least if they existed.

Sometimes it's best to just wait for a bit, make some friends in the right places, and maybe ask again. Just walking up to someone and saying "Hi, I'm so-and-so, I'd like to be a such-and-such" won't get you anywhere AT ALL. As a matter of fact, if you really want to get your character into a certain organisation, you should NEVER announce your intentions. Instead, hang out in the general areas that the organisations frequent (Teron, Exile, Menegroth, etc). Make conversation, ask for a bit of advice on where to train, ask if they know where you can get such-and-such a type of sword, and see if you can guess what their affiliation is, and eventually you'll be able to use your new friend to score some points with the guys up top.

Some of the best characters are neutral. Othet is a prime example. He couldn't PK, wasn't in any group, but he was still probably one of the best characters we've had, ever. Making characters is often a hit-and-miss arrangement. If you're still having trouble, feel free to YIM someone who might know what they're talking about, or if that doesn't work, try me.

By the way, I wish Othet would come back to SK. I hope his finals are over soon.

No it's not. If I lead a cabal that has 5 scouts in it, I have a perfectly valid IC reason to not induct a 6th scout - if I ICly believe 5 scouts is, say, overkill.

I have to admit, I don't see anyone being condescending.

And really, I don't think you have any room to complain until you are flat out rejected from a cabal because of your adjective and name.
