OKAY this is very annoying a lot of the time.

When buying weapons all it says is the weapon type sword/spear/whatever it seriously needs to say like a cold iron longsword instead of just cold iron sword.

Like this.

Quote:
A cold-iron rose-hilted guisarm (brand new), a medium cold iron polearm, for 3 platinum, 3 gold, 6 silver.

Should I really have to pay 3 platinum to find out what a guisarm is? Because guisarm isn't a weapon-type in SK.
This was just the easiest to find example.

Are you saying that knowing that it is a pole-arm is not enough?

To that I would say CRY MORE

You spent the time to make a post. Wikipedia does have pictures of almost every known weapon in history.

Eventually weapon makers incorporated the usefulness of the hook in a variety of different polearms and guisarme became a catch-all for any weapon that included a hook on the blade. This is exemplified by the terms bill-guisarmes, voulge-guisarmes, and glaive-guisarmes.

That's from wikipedia. So, is it a bill, a glaive, or something else? There are also cases like the straight dagger that was really a push knife, and that bardiche(?) that was in Tethos that was a polemace. There are all kinds of weapons and armor that are either wrong or confusing, and it would help a lot if the subtype was listed in shops.

I don't disagree. I'm of the same opinion, that many weapons are ill-described. A rule I've generally kept is to add the subtype to the list of keywords that go on any weapon. This makes it convenient in this instance, you could list every instance of polearm to see exactly which type it is. I don't believe everyone adds the subtype and material type to the name keyword, but I think its a good standard going forward.

Agree 100%.
You're not whining.
This is a reasonable request.

There's also a "lance" in Seawatch that's actually a halberd. Wait, what?

Wikipedia is not going to be much help with a landsknecht. :P
