Up to apprentice, but they can train level for jman chars also. Not that train level means anything anyway.

Pretty sure if your the same class you can teach up to JM.

What's the benefit of not being able to buy armor and weapons (especially the new taslamar ones) until novice?

No one is stopping you from using the shops. You just have to earn the money instead of having it given to you. Having money to spend at the shops too soon can even be considered anti-newbie, because I've heard so many sob stories about newbies spending all their cash on stuff that promptly disappears.

These are great changes, Dulrik. Fantastic. I had the same problems with money as a noob. Didn't know how to spend them properly. I love that its cheaper or free to learn the amateur stuff. Great! I'm happy. OH SO HAPPY!
