Eh, its not because they are a playable race, their stats were just altered to the point where they are too whatever to be dominated.

The reason their stats were altered is because they became a playable race.

That statement is technically true. However you are implying that all races that become playable would become resistant to charm. That is false.

We went through several iterations of what would make Minotaurs an interesting race as well as differentiating them from Centaurs. Minotaurs are the very characteristic of a race that is "bull-headed", that is to say, stubborn and intractable. Once we started to evaluate what made sense, resistant to charm was a natural fit.

Resistant to charm would not necessarily make sense for any other race that we decided to allow as playable. Like someone mentioned trolls, but I don't see them as being particularly resistant to charm.

It was just a joke. Because the most "popular" NPCs became resistant to dominating, I just made a joke about the other popular NPCs becoming resistant to it as well.

No one gets me. :(

Why the f*** can't my master(4) delf helly with max CHA dominate the grey troll? It used to be possible... Is this another way to make life sucks for the players?
Its just like a certain cabal spell that won't grant law immunity anymore...

Atleast in Nerina you get attacked by some law NPCs, they most likely have true sight...

I doubt the grey troll is level 30 only. It must be a little stronger so gain a few more levels.
