Remember the bug which has been brought up on this forum multiple times? Never solved because it was impossible to recreate.

It happens because a character, who was not previously engaged in combat, behind a melee character engages another melee character behind another character who was not engaged in combat. That makes the first melee character switch to the second.

For example. We have priest1 behind merc 1 and priest2 behind merc2 with merc3 in the group beside merc2.

Formations:
group1:

priest1
merc1

group2:

priest2
merc2 merc3

-------

Merc1 engages merc3, then priest1 recites a scroll on priest2, then merc1 mysteriously switches to merc2.

Is this possible to fix, now that we have the reason?

Priest1 recites on priest1 or priest2?

Okay, the formation thing doesn't really help, I think it's easier to just explain.

I'm a warlock behind my fire elemental, I magma NPC A twice, my elemental is fighting NPC A and then, so NPC B doesn't go report me, I magma NPC B and my elemental automatically switches to attacking NPC B, even though it was attacking NPC A, who is still alive. This is with me not using a weapon, so I'm not really engaged, I'm not sure if this happens when engaged in melee.

P.S. This can be extremely detrimental when it happens in PK.

Your scenario doesn't cause said bug, I believe. It is a rather complex situation, hence why it doesn't happen very often and we have been unable to recreate the scenario.

Duh! I thought that was obvious.

Can you bring a log snippet? Never, ever seen what you mention before - must be an issue with NPCs and not PCs, hence not the bug I was trying to adress.
