Nutty-gnome said it best, at creation they are the best. Probably can kill any other race when they come out of creation. Also poison and plague protection is good but after a while dying to a double acid blast gets old fast.

Two ideas to help the griffons
1)
Give them some armor, I mean you have given centaurs an additional armor slot, why not give Griffons arm and head slots.

2)
Advanced toughness - basically doubling toughness and giving them additional magical protections. Make it a J-man skill, available only to griffons.

The poison protection was gimped, for some reason. It still nerfs a griffon's strength, they're just immune to the minimal per-tick damage.

Actually, if you give them the advanced toughness, that would just about solve the armor issue.

They should have a variation of the shield spell, innate and make it stack with the shield spell.

Griffon Defense

synatax: cast 'griffon defense'

As Griffons are creatures of magical nature, they can cast this spell which will increase their resistance to magical attacks. At low levels this spell will only help with saving throws. At higher levels (Mentor +) it will actually start to reduce damage coming in from magical sources.

This would be a spell that would be concentration based (I guess it could be on a timer too but I think concentration would be better). With as much concentration as shield does now. Not brewable/not scribable. This would give them access to some magical protection and not have it being overpowered.

D nerfed poison so that they wouldn't be immune to the gas attacks of the inner guardian (it should be straight up magical damage but that is me).

Yeah, um, last I checked griffons are still immune to gas blast attacks. Poison protection was the only thing changed, and it was a stupid change at that.

+2 primary stat bonus for half-elves isn't such a hot idea. Rogues and scouts out of creation get 24 dex, bards come out with 24 charisma. That's insanity.

I wouldn't mind seeing griffons get buffed, and then I would like to see makaars become a playable race in the game too. Makaars have been in SK for nearly as long as SK's been around. It should be plenty easy enough to implement, right! Can we please have it, please please please Dulrik.

In short, please buff griffons a bit and allow makaars become a playable race.

Muktar is right, gas attacks are considered poison and Dulrik said that the change to poison immunity on griffons was to stop them from being completely immune to gas attacks. I believe they are immune to any gas blasts that are of a lower level than the griffon, or maybe equal and lower, but my griffon barb that I had a while back was definitely hurt by gas from an inner guardian.
