If quests were not impossibly difficult it might make some people more willing to figure it out instead of asking someone in the know. It just creates more abuse, and if it didnt it would just make thinks more twinky for those in the know.

Seriously though, Algorab is dead right. The line was drawn that proved nobody could know how to get in ICly, so everyone that was whining was obviously cheating. Rather than get into more flamefests if we were to actually punish all these people bringing OOC info into the game, it was easier to prevent it outright - less pain for everyone.
