Nw, I ain't playing. Cannibal likes to spam me with interesting thread links every now and then and I bite so I find myself coming back to browse forums.

Olrin, Konstantin, Lorzatu, Kaylia, Kaor, Kaitt, Rezequal.

Gonna have to say that Demon_Sk got me into the game... that bastard lol back many many years ago. Since then its been touch and go with Sypher teaching me most of what I know now.

Memoral mentors.... I would rather say cohorts in crime who really set a positive example for the game from an era long since...

Kiev, Abane, Akein, Vaknafein(sp?) -
1) the hero, the paragon, it was always a pleasure to be involved in anything he was doing and it's amazing to me that even in the last year or so we had characters being made with his sir name paying homage. While he doesn't SK anymore - he is actively DMing and kicking the likes of Midorii, Tzeech, others and myself around regularly.
2) 2 things Abane did for SK 1) make people fear/love the scout. And when he was done with that, there was Magus who did the same with sorcorors, though invoking quite a few changes to the class. He was a roleplayer and solid tactician both. It was always good interacting with the character.. One of your strongest allies, or most feared enemies.
3) Respect. Both as a the character I first knew him as, and the player behind the scenes willing to mentor/problem solve.
4) We never got along. We generally butted heads. Generally not something you'd consider in a mentor. On the other hand, after some rather intense RP, the character stepped out and offered some really solid advice. I'm not sure they ever realized the profound affect it had on me as a person or a player (or even remembers what it was). But, even with the animosity we had, this player takes time out to go above and beyond to work to speak candidly. Kudos.

And one more recent:

Frollith - mostly cos the "new kid on the block" felt like a living legend most of the time he was around. It was like "old soul, new body." Whether I was playing a new character or established character, and our paths crossed, there was always something to gain. He always had something to offer to the game. Hats off.
