Shamanism should be a religion, different to pantheism. (obviously shamans get it set at creation) and the armor should be for those who are devout shamanic followers. All shamans should be ranked HF in the new religion, no blemishment powers, the only reason for HF status is to allow them to bring other classes into the shamanic faith.

I forgot the technical term for those that pray to the ancestors spirits, but that is still vastly different than panthienism.

I could see changing Spirit Aura so it only worked on barbarians and shamans. Then there's no push for most classes to avoid religion.

Granted, less Spirit Aura potions means more voodoo vulnerability, but voodoo could use some work anyway. I'd rather have code to deal with hoarding than voodoo, and AFAIK hoarding's the only reason voodoo has been made such a problematic ability.

Remove voodoo and add in an apprentice spell Spirit Form. Apprentice because it is a spell that gains strength as the shaman levels. Create a form for every creature that is already recorded as a totem in the game already. All forms will have the same stats, attacks, skills, etc. according to the level. Only the look will be the same. Will not bypass laws and can be targetted by the name of the player. I'd be happy to help with the descriptions if necessary.

Having Algorab smite his followers for asking for help from the ancestor spirits makes about as much sense as Algorab smiting his followers for asking for help from Sargas. Algorabians need resurrections too, you know.

Your IC justification aside, I suppose a 'fair' way to not deal with the RP aspect of giving ancestor spirits to religious people while keeping PK balanced, is to simply remove this from brew. I don't mind not having it- I just don't want other people to have it because they were more of a twink than I am, for having not joined a religion whose armor and symbol stats they have no use for.

Edit: I not only deserve a cliche', but am one.

I have already idea logged this. The score for a shaman should read Shaman in the religion slot not panthiest. Shaman is a primitive tribal kind of spritual leader.
