Okay, can you do me a favor and name 5 barbarians that are currently in the game? I can name maybe 2, whereas I could name probably 10 mercs.

Anyways, all this is, is my honest opinion that barbarians suck.

Here, let me make a nice rock paper scissors thingie for everyone.

Merc>>Barb>>(with claws)Swashie>>Merc, most of the time. There we go. And the claws vs Swashie thing isn't anywhere near 100% guaranteed.

That there are more mercs than barbs has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO with what class is better or not in an argument that discusses their merits and weaknesses. People may like their distinctive merc rps than the "classic" tribal rp of barbs, or don't have any shamans in mind that they may want to combo with in terms of "spirit" duos.

Just recently there was a "decisive" discussion that said barbs were the only class worth playing a minotaur in. I still see minotaurs around sk and being rolled - that logically means that there are still people playing (and possibly enjoying!) barbarians.

I've had two barbarians in the past - I enjoyed both. I also took advantage of toughness, and had only a small amount of trouble figuring out fury. It's better for barbarians now, than it was before. I do realize that when all you have is a bowl of fruit, it's easy to want to compare apples and oranges - but really, it does neither the apple or the orange any service in the process.

Seriously? So, when warlocks were complete and utter garbage, it was just coincidence that only like 2 people in the game wanted to rp being a "ZOMG MASTER OF THE ELEMENTS!"

Are we all of a sudden taking a tangent from comparing mercs and barbs, two similar but distinctive melee classes, to comparing warlocks and....oh, wait. There isn't a similar but distinctive caster class to warlocks. The comparison you're making here is not valid.

Yes it is. A class sucking will stop people from wanting to play it. There aren't very many barbs right now, so I think it's safe to say they suck. Though apparently I'm the only one who is willing to say so out loud. Also, remember if D-A says something is strong, it's usually not, and if he says it sucks/doesn't matter, there's a good chance it's 100% overpowered.

I believe we have enough circumstantial evidence compiled that I can rest my case on the very first sentence I said in this topic.

EDIT: ALTHOUGH, in general you probably shouldn't listen to DA either.
