There was in fact a paladin classed paladin of Aludra during my tenure. I believe he could not (due to code/restrictions) be invested, so he never had the majority of his spells. The RP though of the individual was such he was allowed to join in church activities/festivities/defense, as his life was devoted to Aludra/the church. Beyond that, I leave the storytelling to that character's player and Lirimaer because most how that all functioned was between them.
Some deities have a more focused martial approach to what they do. This was how it was explained to me, and how/why at times Amadeo was such a pain in the butt for me to play/others to understand, for he was always putting himself out there, pushing that boundry. But the zealous/warrior Aludran (or Meissan or Zavijan or some of those evil types.

) go beyond to the bounds of what would be accepted behavior by those deities IC. Similarly riding that line can cause all kinds of interaction within any organization joined.
Nothing prevents you from standing on the line, either as a paladin/hellion character and living the struggle, nor from making a type of character who lives walking that zealous line. But it can be said that's also the reason most of the more martial type characters would devout themselves to a cause/deity that encourages/blesses that sort of personality type. It just makes sense.
Hope this helps.
