For those who want to run zMUD on a linux box, I have made a copy of all the needed files, and dumped them on my web-server. Be gentle, it's only a 220kbit uplink line. http://allikat.homelinux.com/winemud/
There should be all the files you need there, IE, MDAC, Jet, and zMUD 705.

Why bother with zMUD when MUSHclient is first of all free nowadays, it actually changes nothing in windows registry so all you have to do is copy the folder from a windows partition(just move it with a usb flash or something) to your linux partition and simply do a "wine ~install_path~/MUSHclient/MUSHclient.exe"?

Bah, don't even copy the folder if you have dual boot. Most up to date linux distributions have things like NTFS-3G included at the basic installation and fstab reads and automounts probably all FAT32/NTFS partitions, giving read/write rights. So just "wine /media/sd1/Programs/MUSHclient/MUSHclient.exe" or whatever depending on where is MUSHclient installed in your windows partition.

PS: I've tried practically all the mud clients available for linux and all kinda sucked. Big time. :(

Ubuntu hands down. Debian or debian clones generally.

PS: Wine Is Not Emulation. :P

The only time DA got something right, and thus I am forced to agree with him. Even though at the start of his post he gets it wrong with 'ubuntu hands down'.
