What I am hearing from the newbies in this thread (a group among whom I include Muktar): Wah wah, I want some things IC to suit me and some things ooc to suit me. When I want things to be IC I will say that fairness is unimportant and that what is IC should be all-consuming. When I want things to be ooc, I will claim that fairness is of utmost concern.

Calling DA a hypocrite is well and good, Muktar, but the stench of it clings to you and yours pretty tightly as well.

Would you not agree that another, equally excellent answer to the problem is to remove names from NPCs, which would be more IC as they haven't greeted you, and allow for there to remain copies of those NPCs? That way it's fair for the newbies because they don't suddenly get unique teachers whisked away, and it's fair for whoever else wants to grab them for whatever nefarious (or righteous) cause they desire.

I don't care about any unnamed NPCs. If you can convince D and company to remove names from NPCs that should have names, go for it. Getting copies of named NPCs makes zero sense. IC or OOCly.

Jardek, everyone wears the hypocrite skin.

Muktar, you are so mistaken if you think that I cry.

I'll just return to my old charm list, that included several unique NPCs. As I said it was always easier for me to charm unique NPCs, because some of the NPCs that duplicate themselves and I use now come with innate high level sanctuary that makes charming a hard process from a low level sorc.

I am just considering the amount of tears the playerbase will shed once more, as they did numerous times in the past. But if the builders want to keep SK unbalanced, allowing some tribunals access to all priest buffs and others not, I'll make it balanced my way.

The imms just shouldn't start bitching at my character that I make the players grief and [REDACTED]. It's not my fault they want to keep the black hand the weakest tribunal of all, so I'll do my best to buff it up as I can(be it enchanted weapons, charmed buff npcs, carefully placed guards etc).

You can't accuse me for playing my IC part well, can you? :P

I've never once in my life seen anyone take so much pride in being a cockjockey as you do. Kudos!

If the builders actually balance the tribunals, I'll stop being one.

Until then don't blame me for playing my IC role perfectly.

I'm not, I'm blaming you for being so damned proud about it.

Varessa should be unique and uncharmable, actually.

Why? Because she's flagged as an NPC healer. She gives buffs that are timed instead of held in concentration, which means that anyone who summons and then charms her can spell up an unlimited number of people.

Not that anyone currently uses this tactic, mind you.

Sorry about that.

Your beloved awesome KDs have allowed at least 2 tribunals to have access to at least one orderable healer NPC as a law NPC.

But I guess if I made a thread out of it, Alshain would lock it and then delete it.

And then of course stupid people would still whine that the Black Hand is overpowered.

Varessa will be unique in the future. I think she'll also become immune to summon because she is flagged as a healer. That doesn't mean there's any shortage of high level NPC priests that could be charmed and are not unique.
