Sorry jhorleb, I shouldn't post so early, can barely see straight sometimes. I can see how people view jail time as an OOC punishment, but that doesn't necessarily exclude it from also being an IC punishment. In real life jail takes time away from your life, in the game it takes time away from your character's life. I guess I just don't see the problem. Of course, I've never served more than five hours in jail at one time.

You rarely hear people liking the jail system, so I'm curious what it is you like about it.

He means if you lose(aka get caught) you don't get an insta respawn and rush into PK, getting caught again and generally continuing this circle(just like counterstrike).

And if you get caught you can still easily get out from jail cells instead of serving that many days in prison. Even from the hardest cells to break out(like Exile's). It practically took only my priest and Benjamin to break out Hotepsunum the other day. OK, and some certain lewt pieces, but even without them it's doable with a larger force. I mean practically 2 PCs, with one of them having the biggest crime list atm in SK afaik, freed another banished PC with a rather large crime list.
