Those three subtypes are NOT overpowered.

I propose melee dmage doing half of what it does now, and spell damage doing 3/4 likewise.

I like the idea of longer combat rounds, it's true.

I agree that enchanting should do something for melee damage
as well. Maybe just adding a type that increases armor or slightly reduces damage, so you have to choose if you want your things to
be melee protecting or spell protecting (or both if you don't want to
be completely covered). Though some people (I mention no names)
will probably still spend ages and ages and ages in a relatively safe
stronghold enchanting until they've got at least 7 of each on all their
gear.

MP on armor pieces already increases the overall protection value of your armor. MP generally increases your overall protection from magic type weapons(divine wrath, sonic assault etc).

MP is just not affecting melee damage enough, not enough compared to spells.

PS: ROFL@relatively safe strongholds comment. :lol:

No, I mean there are no relatively safe strongholds in SK.

Algon's necro pretty much proved it even with cabal HQs.

Oh, and btw, how can I can hide all day there and still manage rather impressive solo PKs as a priest? :roll: It's not like I see every other priest pulling off such kills every day.

Some subtypes are imba compared to the rest and flamberge, khopesh, and B-spear are several.

No offense, but the few solo PKs I have seen are less than impressive, FoD scrolls on a elf who is already in combat and such.

Still that's more what most priests do in SK atm without using cabal skills or certain PK oriented religion spells.

I guess I have every right to toot my own horn. Especially when others say that I do nothing but hide and enchant all day. :P

And Ain, adding a new enchantment or completely reworking the enchant system requires A LOT of work. Remember what happened when resistances to charm/death/petrification/gas were changed to fort/will/refl. Adding a new one that will probably complement MP will require a lot of work on looking through all items of SK and splitting enchants a bit. Just letting MP affecting melee protection value of armor more seems a simpler solution.

PS: And fyi, I'll spend many hours getting a new sick suit if the enchant system is reworked anyway because that's how I've learned to play the game. So adding more enchants actually strengthens my chars, not weakens them and people will start screaming the gap between those that put work on enchanting and those that don't becomes even bigger.
