Well, you must know the game very well then, since you know every NPC that casts color spray. It's true, I suppose, that everyone should carry cure blind potions/herbs in their inventory, but you have to actually know where to get them first. Not every new player has an instinctive grasp of sk's layout, nor always the money to buy them. Also, many of the times I've been blinded, I've had cure blind herbs/potions with me, but I usually don't keep them in my inventory since put all <container> is very much easier than put item <container> x 10. Which often means I put my potions away because I don't need them (which I don't always). I suppose the problem is that a change to blindness would mean that people can take their recall potions and heal potions out, and we can't have that, can we? I like the idea of a bit of lag while blind.
I don't want to sound like the devil's advocate, but if as a player you have access to the 'enchant armor' spell, color spray should never touch you.
Although it does make sense to have the ability to get any item from your backpack when blind.
