So, what exactly is supposed to happen to corpses when the game reboots/crashes? Are they to always stay there or are they going to disappear under certain circumstances?

Every crash/reboot I've experienced shortly after death, my corpse has returned. I do believe the timer and corpse-save is still in effect throughout.

Your corpses will always return until they decay

edit: This thread is proof you don't die often lol

I thought there was a rule that stated if the corpse remained untouched(aka not moved from the room it died), it would stay there until it rotted. Moved corpses dissapeared though.

It seems this is no longer happening though. Is it intentional? Was this changed? Or perhaps I was wrong all along and PC corpses don't dissapear unless they rot.

PS: This happening during the last 2 scheduled reboots has helped me to complete some RP yesterday, but still I want to know if it's working as it's supposed to.

Wait wtf, Yotbol died?

Awww, there goes my claim to fame to have been the only killer of Yotbol.

Yotbol doesn't die. Syndal tried to do it but failed horribly. :P

I'm asking generally, not about my own corpse. If corpses are meant not to dissapear on crashes/reboots, I can find a nice room and place piles of corpses of everyone that I kill. Then I just enter the room after some time and see like 60 or so corpses, all left there. Oh the tears of joy!

So can Dulrik or someone answer how are corpses supposed to be lost in reboots/crashes? I am pretty certain the "do not move the corpse from where it died else it's not saved" rule used to work, but it seems it doesn't work anymore.

PC corpses and their contents always save until they rot or are destroyed.

Not always, if they are perserved, they'll go away at reboot.

That's my point. I had corpses since last bonanza(not jubilee) embalmed and dropped in a certain room, waiting to make some certain RP.

They haven't gone away.

So, is it a bug or not? If it's working as intended, I have to embalm a LOT of corpses and make huge piles of them from now on. :P

Hmm... that embalming fluid probably should not be able to be applied to PC corpses at all. This is why I hate scripts - its too easy to have them break rules that shouldn't be broken.
