Agreed. Just because someone is evil, doesn't mean they are psychotic killers *cough*help diabolic*cough* who simply off their own "loyal" minions or allies for an item they could just as easily intimidate or demand from them.

I don't see a reason for this to be implemented. In a theoretical situation, if a darkie demanded something from an inferior and they refused to give it to him, the next step would be to just slaughter them for it. If you don't want to, for whatever reasons, you can use one of the many other methods available in the game to attain it. If you they're resistant to such flags, you'll just have to suck it up. The only time I can see this being a problem is with death-rot equipment, especially if it is darkie only. Killing the NPC destroys the item, stunning it does too. I'd go ahead and bug log items like these.

Bottom line, the request function is not there so that lighties can abuse it as they see fit and have access to mad loot, it is there, because of the limitations of the lightie alignments. Darkies do not have such ethical struggles.

No, they do not. I'm simply saying it's nonsensical from the NPCs point of view.

You can sure, my point is though that it's rather foolish on the NPCs part to be willing to throw away his/her life over a pair of shoes. The level stipulation would be in place to make it obvious that if the NPC chooses to engage in combat it -will- lose. Level 41+ NPCs think they might stand a chance, and are going to put up a fight over their possessions.

Choosing to stun the NPC is simply kind of you, it's still a horribly stupid decision on the NPCs part. Which is why I suggest it, I just don't see any sensible NPC refusing to hand over our pocketwatch if someone has a sword resting on our neck.

Spiders throwing daggers at you is equally nonsensial if you choose to view it that way, but that is how AI works. It's not even that much of an issue, I can easily imagine someone being so obsessed or sentimentally attached to possessions, that they wouldn't give them up, despite the threat they'd be facing.

You want it? Come and get it - style.

I'm getting a really strong case of deja vu here.

(Dulrik posted his opinion on page two of that thread, if you're curious.)

Wow, that thread is over a year old. How on earth did you dig that up?

Well, seems the Dulrik has spoken. It seems nonsensical but I shall continue to slaughter NPCs for their dishrags. It was probably given to them by their great grandmother or something, family heirloom worth dying for.

If you feel bad about killing them, beat them up instead. Also, I don't believe spiders should be throwing daggers if they have been built correctly. You should probably typo log that spider asking whether it is incorrectly flagged as a race with hands and/or sentience.

SK Character: Airkli
dark aura'd characters should not care who they kill. Save for Hellions.

What about grey aura's then? I'm not going to push it further really, Dulrik already spoke on the matter. I'm just saying it seems nonsensical that weak NPCs would rather die or have the [REDACTED] beat out of them, than just had over their socks and avoid any conflict.

But I'm fine with it staying the way it is. It was mainly just an RP suggestion like I said.
