A jagged tunnel
After a short saunter northernly the footpath seems to drop off downward
again.  The trickling water continues along here, dancing over the sharp
rocky edges and playing an eerie tune against the cave walls.  Some bits and
clumps of mosses cling to the rock in places, kept moist by the humid air.
Obvious exits: s d
An orcish patrolman keeps watch here.
A Taslamaran courser walks in from the south.
An orcish patrolman stabs your stomach, causing a small wound.

An orcish patrolman stabs your stomach, carving open a painful, bleeding wound!

A well-chiseled landing
Suddenly the walls of the cave begin to take on a more flattened
appearance, visibly chiseled and carved.  The water trickling in from above
winds its way down into a hole and out of sight, the soft sound of it still
present.  Slabs of smoothened rock have been fitted together hastily to give
the floor a somewhat unlevel tread.  To the left of the opening sits a large
rock etched with red runes.  Up ahead the passage opens up wider, as a gust
of cool, dank air signals a continuing passage to the north.
Obvious exits: n u
A large rock etched in red runes has been set by the entryway.
A sleepy orc rests here, snoozing against the cave wall.
Run away!  Run away!

This, along with several other problems I had yesterday, makes me want to kill myself. I'd gone to the orc cave before and never got harmed by the aggro NPCs when I was behind a pet. But now whenever I merely -walk- into the orc hive, I find myself being thrown to the front row, and my pet will not listen to me inside the orc hive or anytime afterwards. I've tried several different pets, so I'm pretty sure it's not me.

If I'm doing something stupid, please let me know so at least I know who to blame.

Those orcs have weapons that reach. I don't think your being thrown front row.

What race are you? Without infravision you won't see what is in a room away from you.

I'm a half-elf, I have infravision.

I've been there before with a mount in front of me and have not been attacked. In fact, that was the first time.

You won't see what's in a room away from you WITH infravision, you can just aim spells there. Also, those patrolmen are flagged hidden.

How about the room down there that is no magic for no reason other than to be annoying?

I don't agree with "no magic" rooms in general, but there could at least be some ratonal RP requirement to sticking random rooms that make you lose all buffs in places like this and the talsamaran palace.

That room is very easily circumvented.

As someone else already said, many of the orcs have reach weapons. I know many of them have Ahlspeis (sp).

Okay, why won't my pets listen to me inside the orc hive? I've tried it with several different ones... it's like, right outside the cave, "o wolf sit"; a grey wolf sits down, and then on the inside, "o wolf trip, o wolf sit, o wolf bash" gets NOTHING. I don't have a log of that, but it did happen with several of my pets, and not just one. I have never successfully ordered a wolf or courser to bash anything inside the Orc Hive, while they would inside the bakemono caves and Morea.

Sit should of worked, but if I remember right wolves don't have infravision. If that is happening, then there might be a larger problem.
