Probably not, there was an update to make it impossible to get such buffs from NPCs.

Persuade generally now remains of the best skills of the game. I'm happy that so few use that though, since it can be totally devastating if used correctly.

Except when the person keeps word vials in their container, then it just gets you killed.

Okay... brew some extra potions and

give word XXX;persuade XXX quaff word.

You could even plant the potion so they wouldn't see it coming

Yeah you could, but give has no lag, whereas plant does, and if they attack you before you can persuade them, you just got wtfownt.

Yeah, yeah, making a gm sorc cast final strike is great and everything but fat chance for that happening unless the char has minimum cha.

It's amazing that we discuss all these tactics and suddenly Syn's character is using them in-game.

If Syn didn't know about it before, that is Syn's fault for not knowing her own abilities. Everything that has been said here has been done in the past multiple times and referenced multiple times.

Oh, I'm not suggesting she should be. I'm just suggesting that perhaps ooc info being taken IC to a greater or lesser extent (eg, having quest items before you start the quest) should be allowable rather than punishable as it now is.
