I'm wondering if it's intentional that you don't get any notification when the spell runs out.

I don't think you should get any notification. You wouldn't necessarily know when it was going to wear off, whereas if you were holding the spell, you'd know when your mana was going to dwindle.

Don't you at least get 'xxxx no longer follows you'? I'd be okay with that.

Meh. I guess they can say "stops following you" but then what about the charmies you get to hold spells/sleep?
