It is completely situational for me. Sometimes I leave things, sometimes I don't. It all depends on the circumstances of the kill and my enemy.

My character's alignment is diabolic and my religion is Destruction, I take what I need and junk the rest.. it actually does a service to players who need to learn how to gather gear.

To the victor go the spoils IMO.

If I played a paladin or hellion.. I might do otherwise. Or a griffon or elf or something.. but i'll never play an elf.

Good, archaic already posted. Now he can't say he jloots just because I hate jloot. And I hate jloot. There will never be a good enough reason for me to jloot. While I may find an excuse, such as retribution or revenge, to jloot someone sometime in the future, my excuse will still not be good enough reason and I'll be angry with myself afterward. And plenty of people on both sides of battles I was in with Shaloush saw my RP surrounding loot.

Anyone that's spoke to me oocly knows I am incredibly, actually beyond incredibly biased against Jlooting. My very first character to the mud, a Deep Elf Hellion (Aye, I know it was a hard choice and I was warned.) was apparently a good character. People either mistook me for a veteran player, or just went overboard, which I'm unsure of, but the exact moment, and even a few times before, I hit Mentor(1) it was open season on my character.

I spent literally 90% of my time the next 2 weeks I endured it gathering loot, and dying half armored to PK frenzied lightie gank squads of 5 or more vs 1 little Hellion who couldn't even afford a mount. Often times I was even killed naked. Needless to say, the only place I knew to get armor was in the Nerian shops and once my bank account ran out well...I got screwed. I was still being spam killed and jlooted, even wearing the wooden armor from the arena. Needless to say, I'm heavily against it, however I can see some points in where it may actually be useful. Like on people who have spam killed you and never shown any respect. Even on the few kills I did get with my Hellion, I often times left their things, only the favor was never returned sadly.

Jlooting I can see at times. However it shouldn't be used "Every single time" you kill someone. Not everyone wants to spend 30+ hours enchanting their suits and such and not everyone knows where to find the best adamantite / mithril armor either. It seriously hurts new players more so than the vets who know where all the gewd stuff is.

One or two trinkets from your kill is good in my book.

Every paladin jlooting is in my opinion a badly rped paladin (and please don't give me the "I destroy it so he can cannot cause any more pain with it" candy cos it's just weak)

Make death cause you to lose a small fraction of a stat point (let's say, -1/3rd of a random stat) and I will consider relaxing jlooting. Until then...you guys can keep rping that death is meaningless and jlooting is awwwwful.

jlooting is entirely an IC matter dependent on cirumstance with little OOC intervention.

The first thing a character should do upon entering the PK arena is ask a mentor or comrade about the areas where that player can get his/her desired gear (whether it be addy or mithril etc.). Learn those areas inside and out, be able to lead through them and navigate them flawlessly. Upon ganking, that player can then rally together the necessary force and reclaim what has been lost.

That would solve all problems entirely if SK were the world where ganking and requipping collide.
