On topic, I must again ask "why the poll?". You've clearly ignored the majority of users, who asked for an opt-in toggle - just as you ignored the overwhelming majority of people who asked for longer sigs.

I don't want to say it's insulting to pretend that the opinion of the playerbase is important and then completely ignoring them, but I'm left with precious few other options.

I hate to chime in with a me too, but I'll do it with a bit more honey than vinegar.

Forums moderation is a completely thankless job, the whole forumid thing is probably the best invention since sliced bread for helping that out though.

With that said, all these polls and the illusion of decisions isn't needed. If anyone is going to make changes and moderate harshly and intermittently then I'd prefer them to be nameless and faceless.

All putting a face on the moderation in these forums does is give the illusion that they are accountable for how/what they moderate, and that just isn't the case.

This whole signature issue is another example of something becoming more annoying by the illusion of choice, since a simple opt out of signatures setting that could be turned on would have satisified everyone there was absolutely no reason to automatically kill all signatures other than personal perogative. If it was going to come down to personal perogative then it shouldn't have never been made a public discussion.

I think all the anti-Alshain sigs had a little something to do with the decision

We all know you don't care if you get sanctioned or banned for that fact. All you will do is get out that trusty old ip changer and make another forum id, right? Hell, I am willing to bet you already have two forum alts made at this point in time and have been test posting on them already.

I sought input from you the players; not the final decision. A consensus was reached at the last immortal meeting which was that signatures would be hidden, with users opting-in to display them.

Why bother though, if it clearly doesn't matter?
