Here's a few questions.

Being as griffons have natural weapons(talons). If a griffon is a merc or a barb, is it better to use their natural claws, or a [INSERT MELEE WEAPON HERE] ?

And a follow up. Where on the "weapon awesomeness" scale does a griffons talons rank? As far as speed, accuracy, lethality? Faster than a sword? More lethal than an Axe ? A bit less accurate than a flail ?

And here is a presumptive thanks for any that can shed some light on these questions for me ! :P :) :D

From what I have I heard on the forums that they are slightly better than lightly enchanted daggers. Otherwise, unless you are fighting a swashie, or doing low leveling, totally worthless.

Trying out a griffon barb as an alt not too long ago, the difference between claws with wild fighting (4 attacks) and using an storebrought khopesh with fourth attack was huge.
Griffons in general do FAR better in melee with weapons, not even factoring in shields and such.

The only reason I could think for a prepared griffon barb not using a weapon would be if they were in a certain cabal.

I think Muktar is mostly correct that they are little better then lightly enchanted daggers.

And barbs aren't even allowed in the cabal TBM is talking about.

Wild fighting no longer stacks with <super secret cabal ability> so barbs are suppose to be allowed back in now (or so I'm told.)

We let Paladins into the Druids but not Barbs into the Fist? Comedy.

I don't think its an RP restriction so much as a barb + <cabal name here> is to powerful. Not saying I agree, but thats the idea.

The concept of a barbarian does not fit into the RP of the fist. An uncivilised warrior goes against the whole enlightenment thing, as per Dulrik.
