Barb in the fists is stupid. Just like a paladin in the druids. Rename the merc class to fighter and the problem is solved. I never liked the name anyway. How can you be a mercenary adept. Would you ask your money if they didn't want to pay you? What about a hammer merc who has an oath to fight evil? Is there no oath if you don't get paid? It's not about fists. The name is stupid in most cases.

ps: Maybe punish the fists who use frenzy too.

No, the way things are handled in this game are stupid and usually contradict something else.

People will pick Merc's and call themselves Knights, Gladiators, or Soldiers.
People will pick Nerco's and call themselves Bone Shamans.
People will pick Hellions can call themselves Ninja's... oh wait that was just me.
But when you pick a Barbarian.... they're a Barbarian.

Though exceptions are made when you have friends among the Immortal staff.

So instead of correcting the wrong ones and having gladiator fighters and soldier fighters (rped) and cursed merc knights and barbarian barbarians you want everything to work the wrong way?

ps: I don't disagree completely with merc knights or rogue knights or anything similar if they have accomplished great deeds ic and they have gotten the title from the leader of their country for example. But this is much different from enlightened barbs. In any case a merc fistor was much better than a barb when they were tested in the wastelands according to an imm (I don't remember if it was dulrik or someone else).

pps: I forgot the banished ninja hellions. :D

"TESTED"! I love when people who play SK describe the elaborate tests they have done to see what is the "best" to play. I suppose this entire mud used sickles before the weapon comparison list came along though, haha.

Ya uhmm a little more than 10 years ago they allowed barbs in the fist and it pretty much raped everyone. That is why they arent allowed. The RP reason is because they arent "centered" but it is mainly a balance issue.

What part of the mechanic issue being fixed aren't you getting? Barbs will not gain any more advantage than a merc when employing the fist skillset.

It is no longer a mechanical issue, barb enlightenment is "poor" rp

I mean, sadly, that's just blatantly untrue. Even if wildfighting doesn't stack, there would have to be code to prevent berserk and fury from stacking. Why not just disable berserk, wild fighting, and fury for all barbs upon joining fist?

Do you realize how absurdly rigged griffon barbs in the fist would be like? Talk about a class/race/cabal combo that takes absolutely no skill or effort. Naked they would have better armor than most warriors via toughness, and hitting 6 times a round with griffon claws and then stacking the absurd like +50% damage from fury would just be an absolute joke. Forget the RP restrictions that [REDACTED] just isn't balanced for barbs.

Frenzy and beserk are a form of mental conditioning where they sacrifice their mental facilties for physical, in a way they require discipline to use. To reach enlightenment one would simply need to have the wisdom to know when to use something with such an effect. Damn rolep[lay could be generated, it's an old outdated rule.
