I've recently started playing Sk again, and I cannot help but notice how rare the race of the deep-elf is played. Many people in my opinion choose not to play this race because of the obvious disadvantages.
Some changes have been made over the past few years, and I think that the deep-elf race has gotten the short end of the stick.

Elves and deep-elves are oposites obviously, although I think they should still share certain abilities stat wise.
They are matched is strength.
Elves are slightly more dextrous than the deep-elves.
Elves are have slightly more constitution.
Deep-elves are moderately more intelligent.
They are equally wise.
And elves have a noticebly greater amount of charisma.

When the stats are compared though, elves have the advantage of four more stats over the deep-elves. 124-120

Can anything be done for the deep-elves to make them more playable?
Im not saying that the mud is all about stats and not rp, but many people choose their race based on their class and the stats to create a decent build.
One thing that the deep-elves have is faerie fire, although I have to say I can count on one hand how many times I have seen it used.

Im not asking for any kind of handout for the race, although I still think something should be done. I remember playing back in 1998, the deep-elves were drow, and had 23 dex. Why was this taken away?
Would it be possible for anyone allocate more stats for the deep-elves if it is no trouble?

Trust me, the lack of stat-points is not the reason people are staying away from deep-elves. The numerous glaring racial weaknesses are the reason.

I disagree. Deep-elves stats suck and therefore nobody would want to bother with their weaknesses if they get nothing from playing them.

both elves and d-elves are rp races. Imo they both need something special RPwise to set them out of the crowd for the penalties they get, such as an area for elves only, and an area for d-elves only, as well as items that can only be held by those who have elven/deep-elven blood in them.

Those items and areas should be such that would counter the penalties of being unwelcome or just outright attacked by NPCs in some areas of the game, as well as the penalties from initial PC negative reactions.

An example that could be used would be the sylvan blades.

if they were changed to something useful for a swashie and only usable by elves, that would already give elves a boon.

For deep-elves, the equivalent would be the volriani blades, etc.

or, if you want to be anything but the cynical grumpy malakas that DA is lately, you could make them anything and level out weapons so that they're all useful one way or the other :P

Agaph mou :D

How about tweaking Chzzrym to be Delf only? Like there's shops in Teron that attack any nonhuman that enters, make Chzzrym aggressive to any nondeep elf race. That alone opens a few shops that give items that only Delves could buy. also make it to where they could start in chzzrym and perhaps tweak the shops. Seriously, the place is pretty difficult to find and the fact that it sells only iron weaponry, where as nowadays you have shops that sell tanso, is pretty lame.

Also, I find it odd RPwise that they mine adamantite..There is ore of it laying around for you to take via quest to a certain NPC, yet they only sell iron weapons? Yeah, they should be selling limited low grade addy or something...

On occasion non-deep elves will get attacked in Ch'zrrym. I'm against making it a starting city, but it is over-due for some work done on it. I don't think it has ever been changed at all.

Also, since drow are no more it would be kind of neat for the city to not be so greatly influenced on typical drow culture. They were changed from drow for a reason...I forget what that reason is, but lets give deep-elves their own history and actually distinguish them from drow in more than just name.
