Didn't there used to be a social command that triggered an emote based on your class. Like shamans would "xxx gives thanks to their ancestors"

and swashies would "xxx twirls their weapons while moving acrobatically around the room"


and stuff like that? Has that social been removed? Or am I just tripping and remembering a different mud?

it was the command 'pose' that was thankfully removed. You don't need the game to do that for you. (also it was abusable)

But how was it abusable? My guess goes somewhere along the lines of forcing someone to pose while under a charm spell... but that would seem minor since I imagine any player with the time put in to be able to successfully charm a PC, can probably tell the charmee's class by their description and eq. If not just by reputation or previous encounters.

Let's just say that xxx is a sprite necromancer who wants to act like a sprite sorceror. c charm xxx;order xxx pose ruins the guy's RP.

Also some of the poses were hideous...

Yes, I remember being a principled swashie putting graffiti on everything in my fountain room. Talk about people struggling to insert that pose into properly RPed convo.

And some of them were humerous. Animating fried chicken indeed.

There's no reason to keep commands that explicit. If I remember the hellion had one where little kids run away from him the street or something. If it's appropriate, just do an emote. Big socials cheapen things anyway.

Not really abusable in context of the many other ways you can find out class info. For the record, though, I don't care that pose is gone.

I do, I was pissed when my sprite necro was persuaded to pose and it blew my cover before I was ready.
